A LIVE Workshop with Larry Kessler : The Secret of Aloha and the Movement of the Soul::
(April 10 & 11, 2010 in Algonquin, IL)
Aloha (love) fills the people of Hawaii with a gentle warmth. It is perhaps the one secret of the Hawaiians that can't be taught. But it can be awakened and nurtured and allowed to flow. When this happens, the soul moves and power, strength, and healing come together.
In this workshop, we will experience where aloha comes from and to where it flows. By using family constellations and other techniques, we will find the source of aloha and use it to heal ourselves and the ohana (family soul). If the ohana is left unhealed, we can become entangled with our ancestors and take on their fates. But love can also heal the family soul and free us from living someone else's fate.
In this workshop, you will:
- Find ancestors who have been lost and forgotten and assist them.
- Free ourselves from entanglements in the lives of the ancestors.
- Discover the Love that flows through the ohana (family soul).
- Experience the movements of the soul - yours and others'.
- Dive into the beauty of family constellations.
So come and enjoy being with a group of friendly, like-minded people who are curious about discovering love and learning about The Secret Teachings Hawaii.

The kahuna of Hawaii protected the old teachings and passed their secrets down to us through their lineages in the hula, the chants, and through initiations. Hawaiian shamanism offers a cosmology and way or working with spirits that is unique amongst other shamanic groups and notable in its simplicity and power.
What is a kahuna?
Ka means “the,” or “light,” and Huna means secret, but secret in the sense of knowledge which is not obvious. If you divide the word another way—a way to find the deeper meanings of words—kahu means honored or high servant who takes charge of personal property or knowledge. Na means to care for, to be calm and centered. Today, kahuna translates as being a specialist, an expert. There are many kinds of kahuna: medical kahuna, called la’au lapa’au; kahuna of divination, kilokilo; psychological healers, la’au kahea; and mystical initiators, na’auao.
What separates the kahuna from other shamans?
While shamans and kahuna both seek power from the spirits, the kahuna also cultivates personal power (mana). It is this search for personal power that is special to the Hawaiian system. The more mana one has, the more power one can handle from the spirits. And the more power one can handle from the spirits, the greater the power one has to heal others, command the weather, and transform the world.
This system of power can be transmitted, and its techniques and tools taught, through a series of workshops entitled Ho’omana, which means “to empower.” Through chants, journeys, and initiations, the power of the kahuna is unleashed. Immersed in this power, one finds the beauty and aloha of life. Then, Hawaii is no longer a place in the ocean. It’s a place inside you.
