Animal Reiki Program of Study ::
Animal Spirit Healing & Education® Network is offering a four level program in Animal Reiki which will guide you to open and fully develop core traditional Reiki techniques, with an emphasis on supporting animals and their people. Courses are taught by Linda Epstein, Dawn Wrobel, Mary Butler, Carol Schultz, as well as other faculty members of Animal Spirit Healing & Education® Network who have graduated from ASN's Animal Reiki Master Teacher program.
Level 1 and Level 2 are excellent for anyone interested in working with their own animals or animal companions of friends and family - or to establish a solid foundation for completing the Program of Study.
Level 3 and Level 4 become increasingly focused on enhancing skill level, knowledge, and techniques to prepare students to work professionally with clients.
As part of the Animal Spirit Cafe, ASN offers Mastery Hour teleconferences with an Animal Reiki topic focus. This gathering can support you in staying active in practicing your animal Reiki skills while waiting to take the next level teleclass or in-person class. See Animal Spirit Cafe for more information. There are no prerequisites for Level 1, however two elective courses that are available which can provide helpful insights into energetic modalities for animals are:
Certificate of Completion
To earn a Certificate of Completion in Animal Reiki, students must fulfill all program requirements.
Requirements: Students must successfully complete the 4 levels of Animal Reiki Courses, 9 Core Courses, and 15 Case Studies.
The 4 Levels of Animal Reiki Specialty Courses must be taken in sequence, and the following five Core Courses must be completed before moving on to specific levels, as noted:
Of the remaining Core Courses, 75% are to be taken prior to Level 4 (AR404). 100% of the Core Courses are to be taken before Certificates of Completion are issued.

The Core classes are offered as either scheduled teleclasses or on demand classes (via digital audio recordings and downloadable handouts). The Core Courses are included in the programs of study to help round out your education and bring you to a level of professional competency. The instructors of the core courses are well-established professionals and teachers in their field of expertise.

Required Core courses ::
It is recommended to begin the Core courses following Animal Reiki 2. 75% are to be taken prior to Level 4 (AR404). All Core courses must be completed to obtain an ASN certificate of completion in Animal Reiki.
Course format availability (scheduled teleclass, or on demand) is noted next to the course description below. Each course includes a brief follow-up Fieldwork assignment to obtain program credit for an ASN certificate of completion in Animal Reiki. All courses can be taken by non-program participants for personal interest as well.

Level 1 Animal Reiki
Includes the history of Reiki, what it is, and how it works. This class will attune you to do hands-on Reiki for yourself and others. Materials provided include an extensive course notebook, along with published books on Usui Reiki and Animal Reiki.
Level 2 Animal Reiki
Strengthens the Reiki flow and connection, and further understanding of the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual relationships. This class will attune you to do Reiki at a distance, and includes additional Reiki and other intuitive healing techniques.
After completing Level 2, and to attend the Level 3 Animal Reiki class, students must complete the Ethics module (BM101).
Level 3 Animal Reiki
Prior to participation in a Level 3 course, students must complete Ethics (BM101) and Case Studies A (AR301). This AR301 Level 3 case studies course is where you integrate your experiences and get feedback on your work. There are 5 case studies needed before participating in a Level 3 (AR302 or AR303) class. A case study e-mail group is included as part of the case study courses. This facilitates ongoing moderator/instructor support. The animals provide deep and supportive learning experiences through the case study practice sets.
Cases are to be self-initiated and submitted review during the case study coaching sessions. Each case is to consist of a targeted 90 minutes of treatment time with an animal or human. The 90 minutes of treatment time is to be divided into two or three separate sessions. This approach will provide for the opportunity to learn through client interaction and progression.
Reiki Master Practitioner courses (AR302 or AR303): Strengthens the Reiki energy and understanding of various techniques to enhance the energetic flow, including healing with crystals. This class will attune you to the Reiki Master Practitioner level.
Level 4 Animal Reiki / Intuitive Healing
Prior to participation in the Level 4 course (AR404), students must complete Case Studies B (AR401) and Case Studies C (AR402) where you continue to integrate your experiences and get feedback on your work. There are 15 total case studies required to earn your certificate of completion in the Animal Reiki Program. 5 case studies are completed in Level 3, and an additional 10 case studies are completed in Level 4. A case study e-mail group is included as part of the case study courses. This facilitates ongoing moderator/instructor support, as well as mutual student support. All case studies, and 75% of the Core Courses, are to be completed prior to attending the Level 4 Master Teacher course (AR404).
Reiki Master Teacher course (AR404): Learn how to give attunements and discuss suggestions for conducting your own class. Further enhance skills and client treatments, and discuss advanced techniques. This class will attune you to the Reiki Master Teacher level (Usui Shiki Ryoho) for Humans and Animals.
Additional Guidelines
Most students are encouraged to plan for three weeks in between Level 1 and Level 2, approximately two months between Level 2 and Level 3, and approximately six months between Level 3 and Level 4.
Teleclass gatherings (one for each level) are included for each level as part of the course credit requirements. These are scheduled during a weekday evening two to three weeks following each training level class. These gatherings include technique and case reviews, along with goal setting for application and integration.
Even if you are already attuned to Reiki 1, you are requested to do the entire course in sequence since the class material content, discussion, and exercises are related more uniquely to animals and their interconnectedness with humans and nature. The materials and exercises build upon on one another from class to class. Internship options may be considered on an individual basis for new students who have studied Reiki 1 and 2 with other instructors, and who wish to join ASN's Animal Reiki 3 course, and complete the ASN program. This internship approval depends on course content and experience of prior Reiki 1 & Reiki 2 attunements, and fulfillment of ASN Core course and Case Study requirements.
Required Core courses are included as part of the full study program to ensure sufficient coverage of ethics, legal, and business aspects for students in the program. These are crossover requirements with other training programs offered through Animal Spirit Network, so the core requirement classes can fulfill credit in all programs simultaneously if a student is taking more than one study track over time.
Required courses for completion of the Animal Reiki program through Level 4 cover concepts and techniques which are closely related to the skills of being a well-rounded Animal Reiki practitioner. They will help to more fully prepare a student as a Reiki Master Teacher, with a focus on the animal/human connection.
Program credit for certain Core courses may be provided if you already have document training or professional experience in specific classes.
If a student chooses to hold off on the Reiki 4 class itself, but is intending to work professionally with clients and their animals, they are encouraged to complete all Core courses plus the Level 4 case studies leading up to the Reiki 4 class (AR404). Upon completion of the full sequence up to AR404, a program certificate of completion for the ASN Reiki Master Practitioner level will be issued. This is an alternative to the full ASN Reiki Master Teacher certificate of completion.

For the in-person classes, please do not bring animal companions to the class locations. Participants are instead requested to bring photographs of their animal companions.
Animal Spirit Network Certified Teacher Sequence:
This ASN graduate level option is for those who wish to continue beyond the Reiki Master Teacher Level 4.
An Animal Reiki Master Teacher can become an ASN faculty member, instruct classes using the ASN Animal Reiki course materials, and actively participate in the training sequences developed through Animal Spirit Healing & Education® Network. Interested applicants will proceed to audit and co-teach each section of the course, begin to facilitate the follow-up teleclass gatherings for each class, and also participate as case study mentors for new students.
Animal Spirit Network certified teachers are:
- Members of the International Association of Reiki Professionals (IARP)
- Agree to the code of ethics and core values listed on the ASN website
- Are covered by liability insurance through IARP or elsewhere
- Utilize appropriate disclosure and consent statements for all animal client sessions (per the Veterinary Medicine and Surgery Practice Act of 2004), and human client sessions.
Upon approval to teach each level of Animal Reiki, instructors will be requested to teach newly scheduled class sections of the training program, and receive network support from fellow Animal Spirit certified teachers and teachers in training.
There is no monetary tuition associated with this additional ASN Animal Reiki Certified Teacher training. Tuition is the time and dedication to support others along their path in Animal Reiki with integrity, focus, professionalism, joy, and passion for life, animals, and nature.
