Policies & Procedures - Student Responsibilities ::
Once registered for a course :
- Obtain and review any required published materials noted for a particular class. This is relevant for a small number of specific classes.
- If you have not received call-in in information, software log-in information (for online presentations), handouts and/or directions at least 48-hours prior to the start date of the class, please contact Animal Spirit Healing & Education® Network .
- For long distance classes, once handouts are distributed, review and/or print them prior to the start of the class to ensure your ability to fully access them and participate in the class.
- If an e-mail group is utilized for specific class series (i.e. five week or longer courses), please respond promptly to the e-mail group invitation so that the e-mail group is fully in place prior to the first class date. Additional class announcements will be distributed to class members via the e-mail group once it is established after the invitation is sent to course registrants.
- If an online presentation is part of the course, you are to use the provided software log-in information to set yourself up as a participant in the class in advance of the class time. This is typically provided at least 48-hours in advance of the scheduled class. This advance setup is highly recommended to ensure your ability to view the online portion of the class.
- To help classes start on time and provide the instructor or moderator the opportunity to know you are fully present for the course, arrive at your class:
- Teleclasses: 5-8 minutes prior to class time.
- Classes including an online presentation: 10-15 minutes prior to the class time to ensure you have both online and phone access.
- In-person classes: 10-15 minutes early, or up to 30 minutes in advance, to allow sufficient time for you to be fully settled in the room. Please do not arrive earlier than 30 minutes prior to the course start time.
- If you will be arriving late to a class or need to leave early, please let the Animal Spirit Network coordinator (for single event classes) or instructor (for series classes) know as far in advance as possible. For teleclass series, there are individual class policies on how many classes can be potentially missed for unforeseen reasons prior to a student being released from the course, with no refund. These policies, which instructors will share in week #1 for relevant teleclass series, are to assist in maintaining group continuity and momentum, and related to completion of the class for credit.
Following the course:
- Teleclass/Online courses: Complete an on-line class review survey. Once received, please complete and submit within 48 hours.
- In-Person courses: Complete the class review survey on-site at the completion of the class.
For practice client cases, or for professional client cases:
- Students are responsible for knowing the laws in their own state related to animal care practitioners.
- All students are encouraged to use client waivers.
Client waivers are required for all animal related client contact in the State of Illinois. Animal Spirit Network has fully informed students through this posted declaration, and includes this critical waiver information in core ethics and legal courses. See The Illinois Alliance for Animal Owners Rights Web site at www.iaaor.org for further information.
Two examples of waivers for student and practitioner reference can be accessed here:
- ASN Statement of Disclosure Example Illinois
- ASN Consent Form Example Energetic Balancing (which combines human/animal, and Reiki / Shamanic session support)
