A LIVE Shamanic Workshop
with Carla Person and Sue DeLamater:
Sacred Animal Masks: Unmasking Your Personal Power ::

Drawing of a lion mask

Partnered with your Power Animal you will go deep into a Spiral Labyrinth, the spirits' womb, and emerge remade, walking clearly on your sacred path. The spiral is an ancient symbol with a lot of meanings, but a core meaning is the womb. As you enter the spiral you shed your old way. In the middle you are recreated, and as you emerge you are ready to move through the world remade. Throughout we enlist our helping spirits to change us. The secret is in the power of the ceremony. We will be exploring the sacred spiral from another dimension, and we will learn more secrets of the spirit world.

We will be honoring our Power Animals, creating artistic masks of their beautiful faces, and merging with them as we wear the mask in sacred ceremony. (If you wish, you may keep the power animal's identity private by making an abstract mask.) Fully empowered we will change: breaking down the things in us that need to be broken, breaking through our barriers to growth, and rebuilding ourselves empowered by our Power Animal’s dynamic energy. And we will bring healing to each other, super charged with the spirit’s power. It is the gift from the spirits when we honor them.

What you can gain. How you can change:

This workshop is ideal for working with the parts of yourself that you really want to change, to shift, to break down and remake, but have been resistant to change so far. For some of us this means working through a core wound from childhood. For others it means releasing an entrenched habit. For others it is learning to see things a new way.

Other people will want to just focus on building personal wisdom. They may seek to build physical and emotional strength by filling themselves with their power animal's DNA.

Another intention may be to ask the spirits for a physical change or healing. Chronic illness is often associated with loss of personal power. You can ask for your core power back as you remake yourself with your animal's image.

Use your Mask and the Empowered Spiral to Heal Animals and People

The spiral contains a source point of complete transformational power. Once you have learned to call it in, you can use this source point for big healing for any animal or person that you are working with. It can become a cornerstone of your practice. When we were developing the workshop we had an emergency call from my 85 year old Father. He thought he was dying. He couldn't move and could barely speak. We sent the power of the spiral over him, and by the time th ambulance came he had fully recovered. Read more at http://carlaperson.wordpress.com/

Concerned about your artistic abilities? Here is a note from Sue to calm your concerns:

Dear Jeanie,

I had to smile when I read your e-mail that Carla forwarded to me as I, too, have been in a similar position. I gave my inner critic too much power and for years did no art work at all. Then someone said to me, “You say you are artistic, but you don’t do art, why?” That made me so mad that I immediately sat down to show him how awful my drawings were. But instead I drew this beautiful horse and shocked myself. I vowed to shut that critic up and continue to be creative. It takes some effort sometimes but that is part of the creative process. I have a quote on my bulletin board that says, “The best way to thank God for your talent is to use it.”

What you are hearing is your own inner critic, that nasty pest that sits on your shoulder and questions everything. I hate that guy! It is time to flick him off. I don’t think that the spirits or animals themselves are or will be judgmental. That is a human trait. Think of your dog who loves you no matter what. By creating this mask you will be honoring your animals by presenting them with something from your heart. How can they not be honored by that? When I do artwork, I always ask my animals to be with me and help me through the rough spots. We will be doing the same thing so they can guide you along. Think of primitive artwork and how amazingly beautiful it is because it is so real. It was made from someone’s heart and that is the true essence of art. In the workshop it will be more about the process not the product. The spirits will be flattered with anything that you do.

I think about my favorite piece of artwork my son did for me when he was a munchkin. It is not much to look at. It is a circle with two stick legs and two dot eyes, but it is one of the first “people” drawings he did for me. I cherish it because it was made by him for me.

I hope this helps in your decision making process. Carla and I have had some amazing experiences just in the planning stages of this workshop so I know this will be a powerful, exciting and fun workshop and hope you can join us. I can’t wait!!
