HL103 - Nutrition Education Series for Companion Animals - Food for Thought ::In this class, Dr. Mayer will guide participants regarding what is on a pet food label. This includes the guaranteed analysis, definition of ingredients, the amount of ingredients, and explanation of the titles of the food. Guidelines will be shared on how to choose a good food for your companion based on this labeling information. This course is not intended as an individualized analysis of a particular brand or particular dietary requirement based on a condition or particular case study. This foundational understanding will be beneficial to support a general understanding of the food labeling topic, and support later courses in the ongoing Nutrition Education Series with Dr. Julie Mayer that will become more specific based on specific concerns or conditions. If you would like to pursue an analysis specific for your own companion, private consulations are available through Dr. Mayer's Chicago, IL clinic at www.IntegrativePetCare.com.
