BM105 - Business Management/Standards & Practices for Animal Care Practitioners ::This course touches upon a wide variety of business management related topics which have historically been frequently asked questions from students. It is intended to help new practitioners be aware of successful professional practices to create effective boundaries, and to streamline the details of startup and daily work flow as an independent practitioner. Defining expectations up front will help make things easier to manage, and provide a clearer means for conflict resolution. Creating clarity in your work flow and approach will enhance presence and professionalism, and help you to stay grounded and present for client interaction and support. 1.) An overview of topics that you will do independently using the coursehandout, along with internet links to optional pre-recorded audios (totaling approximately 4 hours). The audios may accompany and supplement the written material. You need to allow sufficient time to review the materials prior to the second course section. 2.) For students taking this course as part of an ASN Program of Study, and if you are working toward a Certificate of Completion, you are to complete the fieldwork assignment for this course and have it reviewed. You do not need to complete the fieldwork assignment if you are not planning to earn a Certificate of Completion from an ASN Program of Study.
